Eyes of Ambition

This is a charcoal pencil portrait drawing of a woman casted in shadow on bristol paper. My goal was to accentuate ambition and drive into the overall feeling of the drawing. I made the shadows intense and the contrast high to highlight this. I really like the ambiguity of leaving the other side dark, because it creates a sense of depth and light which makes the portrait feel more alive.
